This electric guitar was handcrafted from recycled sugar  maple with bird’s eye figure  and butternut, along with some store bought woods.  It was created for an auction benefitting the Tree Fund.  The guitar is representative of just how valuable our urban trees can be.  The maple died from stem girdling roots; the butternut went to make way for a new garage.  Both these trees enjoy a second life.
