A woodturner’s dream.  We’ve got bur oak burls, white oak chunks, maple bowl blanks, crazy hackberry pieces, unusual willow, cottonwood,  black walnut, spruce, boxelder and way, way more.  All wood turning blanks are cut GREEN and end-grained sealed to prevent checks.

These are custom sawed chunks of wood suitable for fireplace mantles.  Current inventory includes white oak, green ash,  sugar and Norway maple  (hard) and some spalted red (soft) maple.  No two pieces alike. Mantles are not kiln dried.  Typical size: 8 ft x 4” x 8”

This lumber has not seen a kiln.  It’s been stickered and stacked for at least two years.  Boat builders and old school artisans sometimes prefer the gentler cycle of air dried wood.  Typical woods include black locust, white oak, ash, elm, and fruitwoods.

Depending on wood supply, we’ll mill some saw logs into 4x4, 6x6, 10x10 square beams.  We can also use whole logs that have been de-barked for that rustic look.  We can mill thicker slabs and leave a natural edge. Please call well ahead for best selection.  Lots of character  in these woods.
